Daam Records Digital Releases
Released: July 2008

Coconut ~ "Quicksand"

Black Rabbit ~ "Mindfield"

Swiss-born label Daam Records has been creating quite a stir lately in the Alps, staying busy both holding events at their now-infamous Regendsorf Lounge and assembling a talented array of musical geniuses. Daam, a diverse label with a healthy "spokes of a wheel" attitude towards music, is geared towards releasing tunes which defy classification in an attempt to reach out to the core of all of our appreciation. Best exemplified by their latest releases of five digital singles from two of their most innovative artists, Coconut and Black Rabbit, you can now taste for yourself a bit of the unique flavor being spread around Switzerland's rocky slopes.

COCONUT

Buzz
Prepare for a full-on rocker of a trance track poised to raise the vibe of dance spaces worldwide this summer. Coconut packs this seven minutes of goodness with a bit of progressive, a bit of tribal and a lot of psychedelic acid sonic goodness. The bassbeats are meaty and mountainous, the stabs sharp and corrosive, the pads dissonant and emotive.

Quicksand
Coconut's "Quicksand" pulsates with rhythmic, tribalistic tension. Heavy percussion which never gets boring collides head-on with forceful kicks and effervescent, gossamer pads which glide with the grace and smoothness of liquid metal. A gradual energy-raiser peppered by moments of sublime breakdowns and release and subtle melodies for foot focusing.

BLACK RABBIT

Friendship
This one is a relaxed-tempo bit of a trance track featuring a neatly progressive bass which breathes of cyclical filtration, masterfully arranged ethnic percussion minimalistic melody, all tied together by pulsating sweepy oscillations. All these sounds fuse into a great little mind-expander as easy to dance to as enjoy behind closed eyelids.

Taken
This conglomeration of varied dance families has a little bit of a lot of genres rolled into its own. Warm basslines lay out thick waves of undertow for sonic surfing pleasures, with corresponding lead sweeps which push the energy inevitably up and forward. This piece is a friendly get-along for any environment, be it the club or a more outdoorsy venue.

The Cross
Black Rabbit picks it up with another genre-bending excursion of drums and crisp synth rhythms. Melodies which stay subtle and never grow cheesy provide harmonic divergence against a biomechanical network of interlocking percussion arrangements. This track will make you leave your seat once it hits the decks and sets you straight into its flow.
